Crescent lives in the heart of my mother's grocery store — a store she opened fourteen years ago, though it was far from her first venture. Before that came a restaurant and a beauty supply. She built her way from minimum-wage jobs to entrepreneurship through sheer ambition, determination, and courage.
When the massive walk-in cooler in her store broke down, she was left with a big empty space — rent was still due on every square foot of it. At the same time, I was out of a job, applying to jobs at every coffee shop in the DFW area. I loved coffee, matcha, the warmth of a good café — and like my mother, I'd always dreamed of building something of my own.
That's how Crescent was born. We poured everything we had into our little Ethiopian coffee shop. We source our specialty beans straight from Ethiopia, our ceremonial-grade matcha from Japan, and we make all of our food fresh in house to give you a true taste of Ethiopia.
We named it Crescent because, like the moon, it marked the beginning of something beautiful for our family. We hope to exceed your expectations with our warm hospitality, delicious drinks, and food made with love.
